The Future of Modded Drivers

Hi guys, what's up?
i know that i didn't made the modded catalyst 15.6 but i have a big problem  prevent me from this my AMD switchable graphics laptop has a disappointing problem it's dGPU (HD6750M) was burnt and i forced to disable it from the bios,
so that i decided to build a new rig from the ground and it will be powered by (intel+nvidia)  so due to the lack of hardware that supported switchable graphics i will not mod any more drivers (i can't test it).

it was a very nice time with you guys with this crappy drivers trying to make it 100% working on our systems but it's not the END i'm here if any one  have any technical problem i will try to help as much as i can also for future modded drivers you have to use leshcat labs drivers as they make a very good drivers you have to try it if you don't before .

i'm very sorry for this but nothing stays forever i wish you all have good experience with the future AMD drivers with the upcoming Windows 10.

thank you all for your support all this time .

Regards

Mahmoud Elfar

    3. Hey Petar, just use latest DLL files with your current drivers.
However, if you really want to mod your own driver, you can still do it using an SG FIX Patcher shared on the other famous g3d gfx forum (google for the sg fix patcher) or go here>>http://forums.guru3d.com/showpost.php?p=4952235&postcount=5

It's a little more difficult with some bugs. So you should run the SG fix patcher in safe mode after installing official new drivers. It may not go as planned or you may experience blue screens, so you should always backup the system and important files in the worst case. I last used it on my 6520G+6750m gfx for 14.9.2 drivers, but not sure how well it will work with latest drivers.

  5. Thanks for all the memories making dgpu drivers for all of our faithful amd dual gfx laptops.

Sorry to hear your dgpu 6750M bit the dust. I have the same type of gfx (dgput 6650M), but I don't use my laptop as much in the past year. So I don't think it will go bad anytime soon. But all bad luck experiences like this are really annoying & a real eye opener of how reliable our electronics really are. My rule is if you can get 3+ years out of a gaming laptop then you did ok, but 5+ yrs is more reasonable. And a lightly used laptop should get 7+yrs easily. I've Moved on to using a more powerful desktop and using tablets more to keep the wear & tear off laptop, plus I play the latest games very little now, since many of the top new games require 40+GB HDD.

I'm just glad we came full circle by finding out we can enjoy benefits of future drivers just from replacing DLL files. So I was prepared for seeing an end to installing modded drivers.
Take care and maybe we'll all send you a line as long as this thread is up.

  7. For making SG modded drivers, it usually just requires you to edit the C7,C8,CU files within the AMD CCC installer package. I posted a link with instructions to edit those files in above post when mentioning the SG fix patcher. The SG fix patcher is probably easier since it automatically brings back the SG menu after you install any official driver without having to pre-edit any C7,C8,CU files in the CCC installer.

    1. Not sure for Win 10. Forgot to mention that C7,C8,CU files refer to Win7,Win8,& Win8.1. So maybe Win 10 uses a different C file that needs editing. (so not sure if SGfix patcher will work on bringing back SG menu.Try it and see what happens.)

  10. I've got a question. Just like you adviced I've switched to leshcat's drivers, but I can no longer overclock my 8870M. Any advice?

  11. I'd remove your drivers and use the last ones that worked well for you and just use latest DLL files from Guru3d forum for each specific new game that needs newer GPU dll drivers. That's one workaround if you can't figure out any other way.
